Confirmation for Common Adulterants
About Confirmation Testing
Confirmation testing definitively detects individual drug compounds, metabolites or alcohol in a person’s urine, blood or saliva using sophisticated equipment in a laboratory. These tests are conducted after a rapid screening test to confirm the identity of drugs or alcohol in a sample.
Because they are much more specific than screening tests, confirmation tests can definitively determine the precise identity of nearly any substance at very small amounts. Results are reported at specific levels of substances detected. Only confirmation tests allow a laboratory to make the distinction between illicit, prescription medicines and over-the-counter, legal medications. The results of a confirmation test provide an absolute and definite result that indicates the specific drug/compound present, and are defensible in court.
MRO Services for Confirmation Testing
Confirmation tests don’t distinguish between drugs of abuse and certain medications, such as prescription antidepressants, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, methadone, buprenorphine or opiates. Our MRO services help distinguish between illegal or unauthorized use and medically necessary, legal use of drugs and medications.
Our MROs are medically licensed professionals who determine if the person tested has a legal and valid prescriptions for certain substances. The MRO then establishes if the test result is reported as a positive or a negative. This provides another layer of safety to ensure your test results are supporting appropriate, legally defensible employment decisions.
